Chandrababu Naidu has been elected as TDP’s state head for nine times, ever since he took over the party’s baton from NT Rama Rao after a revolt against him in 1995. Established in 1983 by its founder president NT Rama Rao, the Telugu Desam Party had for the last 34 years, been a regional party. With this election, Chandrababu is expected to play a key role in the NDA led central government and the AP CM also made a resolution tofight until the special status is granted to AP and all the poll promises are fulfilled by the centre.
