Recently, the media people expressed anger at the unit of ‘Baahubali’ and SS Rajamouli in particular for giving interviews only to a few select channels and newspapers and ignoring the others.
This ‘discriminatory’ attitude was resented by the media. This is not fair on the part of the media. Rajamouli is not running a charity.
When a person intends to get value for his money, he would spend it on that product which would give him maximum benefit. That is free market and why should Tollywood be any different?
If you walk into a ‘mobile store’ would you prefer the best- selling model or go in for a poor model just to encourage that particular company?
Have any of these media channels voluntarily come forward to support any small film or do anything special for them to thrive? No! If the film is good, they say it is good and vice-versa.
Similarly, they will get interviews and advertisements if their channels or magazines have a good subscriber base, otherwise not! It is time the media did away with communist beliefs in a free-market economy.
