- Ex MLA of Sangareddy and former Congress leader Jagga Reddy is back to Congress fold. Jagga Reddy, who had contested to Sangareddy Assembly constituency on Congress ticket lost in the 2014 general election. He subsequently jumped into BJP just ahead of Medak by-election hoping that it would overturn his fortune. The Medak By-election was necessitated after KCR resigned to Medak Parliament constituency who contested for both Assembly, Parliament constituency.
Although Jagga Reddy managed to contest for Medak Parliament on BJP ticket, he lost again. In fact, Congress was supposed to filed Jagga Reddy for Medak parliament on its ticket but Jagga Reddy walked out of Congress and joined BJP hoping that this would fetch his political career as BJP is in ruling at Centre.
It may be recalled that Pawan Kalyan had heaped praises on Jagga Reddy. Jagga Reddy met Pawan and claimed as his fan. Pawan too stated that he admires Jagga Reddy and his political stand.
Considered as the strong leader, Jagga Reddy, originally from the RSS, joined the TRS and won the election in 2004 from Sangareddy. But, he left the party and joined Congress at the behest of the then CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. From then on, Jagga Reddy became an ardent critic of KCR and went to the extent of opposing the bifurcation of the state. Despite his influence in the area, he lost the election in Sangareddy.
