In yet another proof that dinosaurs had lived about 65 million years ago, 231 fossilized eggs of dinosaur and a skeleton of dinosaur were found in a house in China. It’s identified that the eggs date back to Cretaceous Period. Apparently it came in light when police raided house in China’s southern Guangdong Province. After finding as many as 231 eggs, cops seized the eggs. The skeleton was later identified as belonging to a Psittacosaurus, a genus of extinct Ceratopsian dinosaur
Going into reports, initially a large number of dinosaur eggs were found in June in a construction site in Guangdong province and again more eggs were found in the area in July, prompting police action the next day to retrieve the lost fossils. As per Chinese laws, fossilised creatures fall under state ownership and it doesn’t allow any trade or possession of them except by specialised institutions and professionals.
With many fossilised eggs discovered over the decades in the city, Heyuan in China earned the sobriquet of “hometown of the dinosaur”. The city’s museum has set a Guinness record for having collected more than 10,000 dinosaur eggs.
