Superstar Krishna gave tough fight to legendary actors NTR and ANR in his heydays. 18 of his films were released in single year, shows his commitment and dedication towards cinema. The first generation star from the Ghattamaneni family introduced many technologies including Eastman Color, 70 MM, Cinemascope, DTS and also Cowboy, James Bond styles to Telugu industry. However, Krishna failed as producer. Many of films Krishna produced under Padmalaya Film Studio were commercial failures.
Later, Krishna’s second daughter Manjula who appeared in supporting roles in several films had launched Indira Productions to make Neelakanta directed National Award winning film Show. Ye Maaya Chesave is the only profit maker for Manjula. She is now out of the film business and there were rumours that Manjula would enter politics in 2014, although it hadn’t happened.
Recently, Mahesh Babu forayed into production successfully with blockbuster Srimanthudu. Unlike his other family members, Mahesh Babu made right plans and executed them precisely. So, he achieved success with maiden production venture. Mahesh Babu also announced to make some good films under G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. His dad and sister failed as producers, but Mahesh Babu did not.
