On Monday, 24th August, world’s leading social networking giant, Facebook, created a sensational record when more than 1 billion Facebook users logged in to the site to connect with their friends and family on a single day. Revealing the news of this record breaking feat was none other than the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
This is a first ever record registered by the social networking leader ever since it was founded in 2004 by a young Zuckerberg while he was studying at Harvard University. Incidentally, Facebook gained its 1 billionth account subscriber in October 2012, eight years after its inception.
In July, Facebook claimed that more than half of world’s online users logged in to Facebook at least once a month.
Elated with the Monday’s phenomenal feat, Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page saying that Facebook’s reach would continue to grow even further. “This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it’s just the beginning of connecting the whole world,” said Zuckerberg.
