When a hit hero turns a producer, it means that he will manage hits as a producer too. Well, at least that is the case with Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and Tamil hero Dhanush.
After establishing himself as a star in Tamil and after making an impact on Bollywood, Dhanush took to producing films and made VIP and Kakamuttai.
While VIP made money both in Tamil and Telugu, Kakamuttai has been getting awards and has been critically acclaimed. The film has also been screened at various international film festivals.
Now, Dhanush has produced two more films, both of which don’t star him. While Samudrakhani plays an important role in the film, another film stars recent sensation Vijay Sethupathi.
Incidentally, both the films have been getting good reviews at international film festivals and this has resulted in the film increasing curiosity among audiences here.
Looks like Dhanush has got his balancing act right between commercial cinema and critical acclaim.
