If the insiders reports from the Union Home Ministry are anything to go by, both the Telugu states will get a new Governor within 10 days. Yesterday, the present Governor CVL Narasimhan met the President of India Pranab Mukherjee as a parting gesture. But, it is Narasimhan’s meeting with Rajiv Mahasrhi, the newly appointed Secretary of the Home Ministry that gained more importance.
For the last couple of weeks, there have been several reports about Narasimhan being replaced by the present Kerala Governor Justice Sadasiva. While Narasimhan’s meeting with the President was a formality, the Governor met Rajiv Maharshi to explain him about the state bifurcation and the present situation in the Telugu states, say the Home Ministry sources.
Recently, the Chief Secretaries of both the Telugu states met with Rajiv Maharshi. After his meetings with the President and the Hom Secretary, Governor Narasimhan will also meet the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and if possible, also the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
