Nethi Vidya Sagar elected unanimously as Dy-Chairman of TS Legislative Council

The 72nd National Film Awards turned out to be a landmark occasion for Niharika Konidela, as her maiden production venture, Committee Kurrollu, was honoured with the Best Telugu Feature Film award. The achievement marks a dream debut for Niharika as a producer and also carries a special emotional significance for the Konidela family.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the family has celebrated a National Award as producers. Years ago, Niharika’s father Naga Babu received national recognition for producing the critically acclaimed Rudraveena, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. At the 36th National Film Awards, Rudraveena won the prestigious Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, earning widespread appreciation for its powerful social message.

While Rudraveena remains a timeless classic and enjoys immense critical acclaim, it was unable to translate that appreciation into commercial success during its theatrical run. In contrast, Committee Kurrollu has managed to achieve the rare feat of excelling both critically and commercially.

Directed by Yadhu Vamsi, the film featured a cast of fresh faces and portrayed an authentic rural backdrop that resonated strongly with audiences. Its engaging storytelling and relatable characters helped it emerge as a profitable venture, making Niharika’s first production a complete success.

Following this remarkable achievement, Niharika has already set her sights on an even bigger project. She is currently producing Bhari, a sports drama starring Varun Tej. Set against the backdrop of a rural village in Andhra Pradesh, the film revolves around volleyball and is expected to be the most ambitious production of her career.

With a National Award-winning debut already to her credit, expectations are now high for Niharika Konidela’s future as a producer. It remains to be seen what kind of meaningful and entertaining cinema she will continue to bring to audiences in the years ahead.
