WARANGAL: The ruling TRS seems to be very confident about the party candidate Pasunoori Dayakar’s victory in Warangal bypoll. According to irrigation minister, T. Harish Rao, no party is in a position to give enough competition to the TRS. He along with deputy speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Gundu Sudha Rani, MLA Konda Surekha, Konda Murali campaigned in Desaipet on Monday. Addressing the people, Mr Harish Rao said TRS will easily win the byelection and that other opposition parties could not even find a local candidate to contest the election. “There is no doubt about TRS victory here in Warangal. Other parties are in the fray just for namesake. No other government has done what the TRS government has done so far for the farmers. The government waived off farmers’ loans to the tune of 54 per cent. The opposition parties are unnecessarily blaming the TRS on the farmers’ issues.
The people understand that it is the Central government which has failed to increase the MSP for the cotton farmers. The Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao chose a common man like Pasunoori Dayakar to contest for the MP seat. The people will surely vote for a local and true Telangana fighter instead of the outsiders the opposition parties have sent to this contest,” he said.
Dattatreya seeks transparency:
Accusing the ruling TRS for not maintaining transparency in governance of the state, Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya questioned the state government why there is no implementation of the projects sanctioned by the central government in the state. He said the people have started turning against the TRS governance. He demanded transparency in the development and programmes of the government like Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya. He said he suspects misuse of power by the ruling party in the ensuing byelection and appealed to the State Election Commission to ensure that unbiased elections will be conducted in Warangal. He blamed the TRS government for the distress among the farmers as the government failed to address their issues. “The Chief Minister is altering the designs of irrigation projects unilaterally. The opposition parties were not even allowed to question the government,” he said.
People will not forget YSR: Roja
YSRC leader Roja campaigned in Warangal on Monday along with party’s MP candidate Nalla Surya Prakash. Her campaign began at Raghunathpalli and covered Station Ghanpur, Zaffergadh, Wardhannapet, Mam-noor, Kazipet and Hasanparthy. Addressing the gathering at Raghunathpalli, she said that people will not forget the welfare schemes introduced by late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and that Nalla Surya Prakash should be elected as the MP for the benefit of the people. “It is time for this corrupt government to start packing. This government has no place for women. People should vote for YSRC for development,” she said.
