The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) planned to foray into south with the IIFA Utsavsm to celebrate the excellence in south Indian cinema. A grand event was set to take place on the 5th and 6th December at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad and a long list of celebrities from all over the country and Telangana CM KCR and Governor Narasimhan were invited for the event.

However, the IIFA Utsavsm has now been postponed to January following the devastating floods in Chennai. With just a couple of days left for the event and most of the Tamil stars taking part in relief activities, there was no way that the event would have been held. IIFA Utsavsm organizers stated that the event has been postponed as a gesture of extending solidarity to those affected by the floods in Chennai.

The date on which the IIFA Utsavsm will be held in January has not been revealed. Being its first edition, the IIFA Utsavsm will make all its efforts to make a lasting impression with special first time stage performances by Tollywood stars like Ram Charan and Akhil, apart from performances by leading stars in all the four film industries down south.
