Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fascination for posing for photographs and selfies on various occasions has always been under intense scrutiny. However, it’s the latest fiasco carried out by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the government’s official information provider, that has disgraced Modi to the hilt.
Yesterday, PM Narendra Modi visited the flood hit Chennai and conducted an aerial survey. Soon after his visit, Modi even announced an immediate flood relief package of Rs 1,000 crores in addition to the Rs 980 crore he announced earlier. While many lauded Modi’s gesture, it is a morphed photograph of Modi’s aerial survey published by the PIB on its official website that brought the PM a huge shame among netizens.
The official aerial servery photo published by PIB showed Modi inspecting a flood hit area through the chopper’s window shows the water completely immersing the buildings in an area. However, social media broke into dismay when the original photograph that showed Modi flying over an empty field submerged in water splashed on the internet.
Soon, many creative netizens posted funny and sarcastic memes ridiculing Modi’s craze for selfies and they didn’t even leave Modi’s unending foreign tours by morphing his photos with The Statue of Liberty and even showing his arch rival Arvind Kejriwal through the window.
