The Chennai floods paralysed the lives of its people while the municipal and government administration tried their best to control the damage and being the civil lives back on track. However, one actor who was visibly unhappy with the sad state of affairs unleashed his angst on the Jayalalithaa government.
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan fired on Amma government for its failure in foreseeing the catastrophe and controlling the damage. Kamal also wondered where is all the tax payers’ money is going to. Kamal’s rants were strongly condemned by Amma’s loyal lieutenant Paneerselvam who lambasted him for not even contributing to the relief fund like other stars but still complaining.
The matter got even worse when the municipal authorities reinstated power supply to the entire city after the rains stopped. However, Kamal’s Alwarpet residence and three surrounding buildings were denied power reconnection.
This led to Kamal fans staging a huge protest against the Amma government for its revenge game against Kamal. Finally, the authorities had to bow down to the fans’ pressure and announced that they have resumed power supply to Kamal’s house and the surrounding buildings.
