Film industry equations are dynamically changing. Present situations in comparison with 1990s are a complete contrast. There were times when hit films used to occupy theaters for more than 100 days and 200 days with sustained flow in collections. Now the times have entirely changed and whatever the producer or buyers make will close within first one or two weeks. So, there is nothing like Silver Jubilee films… there is only Super Hit films for one week.

World cinema observer and an artist, model with International acclaim, Kabir Bedi analyzed the big change from 1990 to present. ‘We have forgotten the concept of Silver Jubilee and its history for now. Today, make money within first week and then you forget about the rest. Profits or losses are decided with collections made within these 7 days. Even the velocity of films has increased and there are good numbers of films releasing every week.

With increasing movie releases, demand for theaters is also increased. However, India has lowest theater-to-population ratio in the world. We have just 9000 to 10,000 cinema theaters in India where as America has 40,000. So, there are further of chances of this game to get more changes in future,’ Kabir said.
