BSF Plane Crashes Near Delhi Airport

All ten people on Ranchi-bound Border Security Force (BSF) plane that crashed on Tuesday morning at Bagdola village in Dwarka, New Delhi have died. So far, 8 bodies have been recovered and two more are being pulled out. The 10 technicians on board the plane were going to Ranchi to repair a helicopter.

The incident took place near the Delhi airport. The plane lost control soon after taking off from the Bagdola air base and crashed into a wall. There was huge fire seen in the area after the crash, as per an eyewitness. The plane fell on a group of labourers working in the area injuring them.

“BSF aircraft crashed immediately after take-off. All 10 people onboard are dead,” said Mahesh Sharma, MoS Civil Aviation, adding details of the crash will only be clear after enquiry.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung visited the crash site. Congress president Sonia Gandhi has expressed shock and distress over the crash and has conveyed her condolences to the families of the deceased.

DG-level talks between India and Bangladesh beginning today in Dhaka have been cancelled in the wake of BSF aircraft crash.
