Yesteryear actress and YSRCP MLA Roja was suspended from the Assembly for one year for allegedly making derogatory comments against TDP MLA V Anita and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on December 18. The video footage of Roja abusive remarks against Anita and her family that is out today exposes other angle in the Nagari MLA.
“These (TDP MLAs) are talking against a woman in presence of chief minister. I didn’t go to police station by manhandling husband like Anita. I didn’t sleep with anyone. How dare, these people talk about me and my character,” shouted Roja on the day, for which she is facing one year suspension from house.
While speaking in the house today, Anita broke down and requested the Chair to come to her rescue. “They had targeted me since I am a dalit. Roja had made personalised accusations against me. She had made abusive remarks against my family which is equivalent to character assassination. House time should not be wasted like this. I request the Chair to come to my rescue.”
Other house member Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary wanted non-bailable cases be registered against Roja and she be arrested with immediate effect. He demanded life time suspension for Roja from house.
“By remaining a silent spectator to his party member’s excesses, Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had indirectly insulted dalits,” opined Minister Peethala Sujatha. She wanted the member to be disqualified permanently for indulging in such awful behavior.
