Ram Gopal Varma’s Killing Veerappan was supposed to release today as a new year treat. The film raised several eyebrows for its thrilling story of dreaded sandalwood smuggler Veerappan am free his final days. RGV also showed a promise of return to his lost magic touch.
But now, just a few hours before the film’s release, RGV received a huge shock from the censor board. Yesterday, the censor board denied to clear the Telugu version of Killing Veerappan for a theatrical release. However, the Kannada version has been cleared and the film has hit the screens in Karnataka.
There has been no news from film’s team about the Telugu version’s release date. And with the Sankranthi biggies coming in to storm the trade, it is highly unlikely that Killing Veerappan weep make it to the screens until the last of week of January. And the box-office prospects of the Telugu version will depend on the result of the Kannada version.
