Pakistan Taliban slaughtered atleast 22 people including students, a chemistry faculty member and four security guards in their attack at a university in northwest Pakistan. Militants planned attack during a ceremony to kill maximum innocents, on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda of Peshawar. This is the place less than 40 kilometers away from where the same militants brutally killed 145 people, including 132 school children in 2014 end.
Umar Mansoor claimed this killing as Pakistan Taliban group act in return to Government’s military operations against them. Militants attacked the university during the students and guests were paying tribut to the University founder Abdul Ghaffar Khan, also known as Bacha Khan.
Militants used grenades and also opened fire with Ak-47 guns while they wore similar jackets of military forces do. Armed forces returned fire killing terrorists and assured that rest of the people are safe inside university. The situation inside university is gruesome and reminded of militants previous attack at Peshawar school, with stairs and walls covered with blood spills and bullet holes.
