The Government Of India has announced the list for the Padma Awards 2016, on the eve of Republic Day. Prominent personalities from various fields such as entertainment, sports and public service are to be awarded the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri awards.
Proud moment for Telugus is Media Moghal Ramoji Rao will be receiving Padma Vibhushan, whereas ace director SS Rajamouli will be honored with Padma Shri. Hyderabad sportspersons Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza and Bollywood senior actor Anupam Kher will be awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan. As expected, Superstar Rajinikanth will receive Padma Vibhushan.

Padma Vibhushan: Ramoji Rao, Rajinikanth, Dhirubhai Ambani, Yamini Krishnamurthi, Girija Devi, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar and Dr. Viswanathan Shanta.
Padma Bhushan: Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza, Anupam Kher, singer Udit Narayan, Ram Sutar, Former CAG Vinod Rai, Heisnam Kanhailal, Barjinder Singh Hamdard, Swami Tejomayananda, Prof N S Ramanuja Tatacharya, Prof D Nageshwar Reddy, Former US Ambassador to India Robert D Blackwill, and Indu Jain of Bennett, Coleman & Co.
Padma Shri: Ajay Devagan, Priyanka Chopra and Senior lawyer Ujjwal Nikam.
