While the poor show of TDP in GHMC polls stunned many, inside buzz within the party revealed several surprising things. Of which the one thing is that the top brass of TDP knew that it’s going to lose in GHMC elections.
TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh apparently told their candidates to not to spend money in the election and asked them to contest on the party’s plank but nothing.
It’s said that there is a strategy behind the polls. Insiders say that Mr Naidu and Mr Lokesh want to test the real strength of TDP in Hyderabad and doesn’t want to influence people with money or liquor or freebies.
This resulted in the massive defeat for TDP in Hyderabad as it has fallen down to a single digit making it easy for the TRS. Perhaps, TDP had already made its mind that it wouldn’t win in GHMC elections. Only time will tell whether this story is true or not.
