Lagadapati Rajagopal, this is one name that needs no introduction in AP’s political scene especially after the Telangana announcement in December 2009. On and off his statements were providing the fodder for Pro Telangana votaries to keep their movement alive.
He had openly dared Congress leadership saying it will not grant Telangana and in case it does, he will resign from active politics. Suddenly Sonia announced support for Telangana and Rajagopal had no face to show.
Today he is supporting his MP seat by saying only Congress has said yes to Telangana but not the central government and going about his works. When he tried to attend a Samaikhyandhra rally today in Vijayawada he was reportedly gheraoed and asked to keep away and only come after his resigning from his post strictly and without any drama!
