Amidst the report from the Hyderabad University’s SC and ST Teacher’s Forum members have currently given their resignation from their administrative posts as they are protesting against the HCU Vice Chancellor Appa Rao Podile who has resumed duty as Vice Chancellor and the university has today claimed that most of them have made a confirmation that they will work in office.
On March 7th the VC Office has received an e-mail from the convener of SC/ST Teachers forum and has conveyed the decision of the forum and the members will not continue in the administrative post in the university. A release from the varsity has stated that on March 8th the Vice Chancellor has made a request to the convener to convey its members to continue in their respective office.
Sources have said that the VC’s office hasn’t received any communication from the individual members of the SC/ST Teacher’s forum in this incident. It has also stated that most of the faculty members of SC/ST Teachers Forum have confirmed their continuation in the office to serve the university in the best possible way.
Presently the University of Hyderabad, which is popularly known as HCU, has witnessed sporadic protest over the suicide of the Dalit Scholar Rohith Vemula. The university was again rocked by protests on April 6th when members of different student organizations has made a failed bid to barge inside the varsity as part of the “Chalo HCU”protest call.
