It is known news that the national leadership Bharatiya Janata Party appointed presidents for five State units on Friday, including Telangana. But surprisingly, it refrained from announcing any changes in the leadership for Andhra Pradesh BJP unit.
In Telangana, G Kishan Reddy was replaced by Dr K Laxman, considered as a non-controversial and educated leader. K Haribabu continues to be the BJP president for Andhra Pradesh, though it was expected that he may be replaced by Somu Veerraju, an aggressive leader and head of Anti-Babu and anti-Venkaiah coterie.
Replacing Kishan Reddy with Laxman is considered as the party’s strategy to move closer to ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in Telangana. The BJP- TRS alliance looks quite possible in the near future. Laxman has been heaping praises on KCR off late.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu is doing everything he can to stop the party leaders from severing ties with the Telugu Desam Party. So, he seems to have ensured that his follower Hari Babu continue as the BJP president to ensure alliance continues with TDP!
