Family hero Srikanth who sometime back entertained with cop based film Terror is getting ready to attract viewers turning Mental Police under the direction of Karanam P Babji. Film stars Aksha as heroine and the moment first look was released, it created controversy.
Police Officers Association slapped legal notice to Srikanth finding the title objectionable They sent a notice to the filmmakers seeking their explanation. The makers explained that the title or the film is no way disrespect to the Police department but did not change the title.
Now the issue reached High Court. Hyderabad High Court after hearing to the petition filed by Police Officers Association stayed the film release. VV.Durga Prasad Anagani is producing the film on Anagani Films and Subrahmanyeswara Art Creations.
Sai Karthik is the music director. Of late, Police titles are leading to controversies. Recently Vijay’s Theri is also titled Policeodu and was changed to ‘Police’ after the objections of the Police department. So Srikanth may not have any option but to change the title.
