Released in summer 2014, Manam featured the three generations of Akkineni family which enthralled their fans and conquered box-office. The film is considered a cult classic in Tollywood.Now, according to the film’s director Vikram Kumar’s latest revelations during a promotional interview for his upcoming sci-fi thriller 24, popular Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has just received his national award for Best Director, is keen on remaking Manam in Hindi.
Vikram further said that he had met Sanjay while shooting for 24 in Mumbai and discussed possibilities of remaking Manam in Hindi. However, nothing has been finalised yet as the talks are still on between them.
Incidentally, Vikram originally wanted to remake Manam in Tamil with Suriya, Karthi and their father Sivakumar. But Suriya immensely liked 24’s story and they joined hands for 24 instead. Vikram also ruled out a Tamil remake for Manam.
