If news is to be believed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reportedly visit Andhra Pradesh and that may happen in the second week of July. He will be laying the foundation stone for the development of a highly modern dredging harbour on the coast of the Bay of Bengal.
This is coming up at Antarvedi village in East Godavari district. This would be the first such visit by the Prime Minister to Andhra Pradesh after dumping the Special Status promise. The center will also establish a dredging manufacturing unit here. This visit is gaining a lot of prominence.
The state government has so far identified about 175 acres along the coast for this project which is estimated to attract investments of Rs 2000 crore. The Dredging Corporation of India will be signing an MOU with Andhra Pradesh government regarding this.
Once this MOU is signed, the land is all set to be handed over to DCI. If the plan is properly executed rapidly by the center, it will be a big boost to develop infrastructure in the area, creating job potential for the youth of both Godavari districts. We have to see how Modi is going to take things forward from here.
