Faced with opposition from Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to the irrigation projects in Telangana, KCR went to Delhi and met Narendra Modi.The opposition Parties of Telangana claim that KCR did not get an exclusive appointment from Modi, but was one among other Chief Ministers called by Modi to discuss the drought in their respective States.
Whatever be the reason, KCR did make use of the opportunity to be closeted with Modi and broach the subject of AP’s opposition to the projects.In 2019, the TRS is expected to win again and BJP will likely need KCR’s support then. Therefore, Modi would have paid attention to KCR’s needs.
On the other hand, we have Chandrababu Naidu who in order to deflect attention from the special status issue went on vacation. He is probably the only CM in India to take a vacation when the State is reeling under drought.Nevertheless, when KCR is strengthening himself at the Centre with respect to the irrigation projects, our CM is probably frolicking in some swimming pool at an undisclosed location.
