Pebble, the company responsible for introducing the first smartwatch, has introduced two new hate-rate monitor enabled models—Pebble 2 and the Pebble Time 2—along with a 3G ultra-wearable for mobile-free exercising. The company has unveiled all three products on crowd-funding website, Kickstarter.First on the list is the 3G ultra-wearable Pebble Core; the company has worked with Spotify, letting users to load watches with Spotify playlists with 4GB of storage, eliminating the need to carry around your mobile device.
It is essentially a tiny wearable computer operating on Android 5.0 with two buttons, a microphone, and headphone jack, which clips to your keychain or shirt. It also works with Bluetooth headphones, in case you don’t like those irritating wires.The company has touted it to be the ‘the first 3G, truly connected ultra-wearable, starting at $69’. However, this offer is only applicable to early buyers and the core will retail at a price of $99. Coming to the essentialities of the Pebble Core, it can help you track locations, send out SOS alerts, syncing apps, streaming, and much more.
However, that’s not all as the device is not only for healthy exercisers but also for Hackers. The company has termed it as a ‘hackable computer on your keychain’.According to the company you can transform the Core into a ‘magic button’ for numerous functionalities. As mentioned earlier, the device comes along with GPS tracking, WiFi, Bluetooth, voice interface support, and 3G connectivity. Both the watches have built-in activity tracking, heart-rate monitor, updated suite of health tools, and much more.Apart from that, the watches also come along with multi-day battery life, water resistance, and e-paper displays, which facilitate better reading. Both the watches perfectly sync with iOS and Android smartphones.
Both have a black-and-white display now fused with Gorilla Glass instead of plastic. But the most important feature is a built-in heart rate monitors.With a Kickstarter price tag of just $99, the Pebble 2 is available in five colors—black, aqua, lime, flame and white. On the other hand, the heavily designed Pebble Time 2 is priced at $169 and is available in three colors—black, gold and silver. However, after the offers exhaust, the Pebble 2 will be sold for $129 and the Pebble Time 2 will retail at $199.The devices have received massive response and already have adequate backers.
