In a surprise move, the left party CPI (M) has appointed Bhadrachalam MLA S Rajaiah as party’s division secretary of Chintoor area in East Godavari districts. In fact, Rajaiah had fought for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh during Telangana movement.
The party leaders said Rajaiah has been maintaining strong hold in five mandals which have been demerged from Telangana and inducted in residuary state of Andhra Pradesh.
The party leaders also instructed to strengthen his hold further in the five mandals comes under the purview of Polavaram assembly constituency in AP. Rajaiah has also been fighting for justice for the displaced at Polavaram irrigation project.
