Addressing the people in the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Sunday after distributing bicycles to the poor Muslim girl students, Shailajanath asked whether Chandrababu Naidu would scrap all the ongoing welfare programs of the Congress government if he was voted to power in the next elections.
Alleging that the TDP president has miserably failed to function as Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly effectively to bring the problems of the people to the notice of the government, the minister said the former would not even retain his post of leader of Opposition after the next round of Assembly elections. Stating that the State was going on well at present, Shailajanath asked whether the TDP leader would create new problems for the people and the government.
Denying there were differences between Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and his Deputy C. Damodara Rajanarasimha, the minister said they would sort out the issues, if any, themselves amicably.
Stating there were 26,000 Muslim students in the State, the minister said the State government had decided to provide bicycles to poor Muslim girl students with an intention to encourage them to continue their education.
