After the union government clarified that it was not ready to accord special status to Andhra Pradesh in the Parliament, YCP chief YS Jagan adopted a new strategy to expose AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s failure in getting special status to the state.Jagan embarked on a New Delhi visit to appraise various political parties of the difficulties being faced by AP and the delay in awarding the special status.Jagan met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a memorandum seeking his active intervention in resolving the issue.
He also met the CPI National Secretary D Raja and brought to his notice about the centre’s delay and Naidu’s failure in fulfilling the promises made by the two parties.Sources said Jagan will also meet many leaders of the opposition parties in New Delhi to mount pressure on centre for a speedy decision on special status. The party leaders said Jagan will also meet some senior Congress and BJP leaders during his stay in the National capital.
However, many are opining that there is no use of Jagan meeting the respective national leaders and dignitaries as he has already lost the trust factor in the centre while AP people too have stopped taking him seriously after his own failures in putting pressure on the state and central governments on various issues in the past.
