As part of the special drive against the errant pub owners in the city, West Zone police on Sunday raided Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N-Grill pub located at road No.36, Jubilee Hills. Cases have been booked against the manager under the City Police and Excise Acts for serving alcohol to the customers beyond the stipulated time (11 pm).
Two more Pubs (Over-The-Moon pub at Daspalla hotel, Movida pub at Radisson Blue Plaza hotel) have been booked on the same day for similar reasons. On Friday, Cops raided two pubs (Kismat pub in The Part Hotel – Somajiguda, 10 Downing Street pub – Begumpet) and also arrested the managers for violating the license norms.
The police have decided to act strictly on the pub owners due to the increase of sexual assault cases in the city. Pubs have been putting the life of women customers at risk by serving alcohol more than permitted time and even the transportation is an issue late in the night. West Zone DCP confirmed that raids will be conducted on all the pubs violating the norms.
