The man of the moment is undoubtedly Pullela Gopichand, former Indian badminton champ and current national coach, who inspired numerous sportspersons and contributed stars like Saina Nehwal, Srikant Kidambi, Parupalli Kashyap and finally the 21-year-old PV Sindhu.
Known for his grit and determination, Gopichand has been admired as a brand name for the game of badminton for several years. And now, Gopi’s role behind Sindhu winning the silver medal at Rio Olympics is causing quite a flutter in the cinema world. Yes, the Gopichand biopic which has been under pre-production from the last few months is now the hottest subject of discussion in the tinsel town. While actor Sudheer Babu, also a badminton player, is reportedly playing Gopi’s onscreen role, Praveen Sattaru of Chandamama Kathalu will helm it as a Telugu-Hindi biopic. According to our sources, the film will get started in early November.
Gopichand’s inspiring personal life, his struggling professional career and the successful journey to Olympics would make this film an interesting journey to look forward to.
