Those who saw badminton superstar P V Sindhu at Pullela Gopichand Academy on Sunday, where she was gifted with a brand new red BMW car by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, were in for a pleasant surprise.
While other Olympians like Sakshi Malik and Dipa Karmakar came in very simple dresses, Sindhu sported a very fashionable cream-coloured designer dress. She looked like a typical model, though it perfectly suited her and she was looking elegant and stylish. Naturally, she became a perfect photo-op for the media.
On court, Sindhu did not attach much importance to glamour, but after winning the silver medal, she had to get that look, whether she wore the typical Andhra ammayi attire of saree or lehanga-Voni; or long skirt or jeans and tops.
She is likely to sign a number of endorsements in the coming days and it is essential that she brings out her glamour quotient in her.
Whatever dress she wears, Sindhu looks like a typical girl next door and gives a more dignified appearance. No wonder, she might emerge as the new fashion icon of Hyderabad, if not India!
