Less than a week into his presidency, US’ new President Donald Trump took a step ahead in his campaign pledge of building a great wall on the U.S-Mexican border. In his first visit to the Department of Homeland Security(DHS) on Wednesday, Mr.Trump signed two executive orders, while one of them is for the construction of wall which was promised to build across the border with Mexico.
‘A nation without borders is not a nation, beginning today, the United States of America gets back control of its borders,’ said the President to the employees at DHS. Also, the businessman turned politico claimed that he will pay government of Mexico to pay for construction of wall. But, to his stark contrast, the president of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto gave him back a big blow by saying that they won’t be paying for it.
Unstopping there, Enrique went on to cancel his meeting with Trump which was scheduled for next week. ‘This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the POTUS,’ tweeted the Mexican president. However, the above tweet came as a response to Trump’s tweet, which read, ‘of jobs and companies lost. If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting.
It is well-known that, during his election campaign, the Republican contestant said a 2000-mile length wall is needed to stop illegal immigrants entering from Mexico. On top of it, Trump is now planning to stop immigrants from few Muslim nations with a view to terminate the threat of global terrorism.
