Telangana Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems adopted new strategy. He decided to maintain strategic silence on the raw deal got the T state in the allocations in the union budget 2017-18 presented by union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday.
KCR is neither opposed nor praised the Prime minister Narendra’s Modi’s government on the budget and allocations to Telangana state. He also instructed his cabinet colleagues not to make any comments or statements on the central budget until the government got a clarity on the funds.
Anticipating media would quiz him, the chief minister also cancelled press conference in the last minute and instructed his cabinet colleagues not leak any information except policy decision to the media.
In the cabinet meeting presided over by him in the Secretariat, KCR discussed in detail the central budget and sought the ministers opinion on the central assistance required to complete the schemes in telangana state in the next financial year.
KCR strongly felt that maintaining restraint at this juncture would help the state in the future as state harped on the centre for more funds to complete mission kakatiya and mission Bhagiratha schemes.
The Chief minister instructed the ministers to prepare the list of the schemes required central funding as he is planning to meet Modi in March and apprise the PM of the financial crisis in the state. The cabinet has approved eight irrigation projects, recruitment in mission bhagiratha and new medical college in Mahabubnagar etc.
