When trade reports concluded that Balakrishna Nandamuri’s latest film ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ became the first film of the actor to have entered the Rs 50 Cr club, fans went euphoric. Here comes a bigger BO shocker than that.
According to the production house that bankrolled GPS, the official closing business of the historical film is approximately Rs 77 crores. As ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ will be finishing 50 days of theatrical run tomorrow, makers will officially announce the details of film’s business to media.
Gautamiputra Satakarni is the first Balayya film to have crossed 1 million dollars in the US and also the first film of the senior hero to break into 50 crores club in Telugu states. Including the Satellite, audio, DVD, digital and other rights, the total becomes Rs 77 Cr. We can expect the breakdown of this unbelievable number from the makers tomorrow.
It has to be noted that GPS received tax exemption in the two Telugu states.
