JC Brothers – Diwakar Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy, who defected from the Congress into the Telugu Desam Party before 2014 elections and got elected as Anantapur MP and Tadipatri MLA respectively, have proved that they still hold influence in the district politics, despite their shifting of loyalties.
Notwithstanding the disgruntlement among the TDP cadres, JC brothers got their son-in-law Deepak Reddy elected MLC under local bodies’ quota unanimously in Anantapur.
Though CPI candidate Pyla Narsaiah was also in the fray with the support of the YSR Congress party and disgruntled TDP members, the JC brothers ensured that he withdraw his nomination papers.
Initially, Narasaiah alleged his withdrawal papers were forged by the TDP leaders, but later admitted that he had to drop out from the fray following direction from the party leadership.
It clearly shows the clout of JC brothers in the district politics. Deepak Reddy, who is a big businessmen in the district, unsuccessfully contested from Rayadurgam assembly constituency in the last elections. Now, he got the MLC seat, thanks to the money politics of JC brothers.
