The retail and wholesale pharmacies in Hyderabad will also joined nationwide one day bandh called on May 30 against the union government’s e-portal proposal which mandated every vendor and stockiest should upload the details of each sale on the portal of the government in a stipulated time regularly.
Telangana Chemists and Druggists Association declared the shops will remain shut from May 29 midnight to May 30 midnight across the state. The pharmacies attached to government hospitals will be exempted from the bandh in view of necessity of availability of emergency medicine to the patients.
The association leaders said that the proposed regulation pertaining to the entering of data of day-to-day purchase and sale and uploading the same on the online will be painful and laborious process for the vendors. The new system will create the shortage of medicines.
