Bollywood film ‘Raabta’, which was accused by Geetha Arts of plagiarizing ‘Magadheera’, will have a smooth release as per schedule on June 9 as Allu Aravind withdrew the case on Thursday.
It is known that Allu Aravind had a few days ago sent a legal notice to the makers of ‘Raabta’ accusing them of copying the story of Magdheera including the famous ‘100 fighters action scene’. The case came to hearing on Wednesday where the lawyer representing the team of ‘Raabta’ provided the full script of their film and also argued that a serious allegation such as plagiarism should not be made just after seeing a 2-minute trailer.
As Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts withdrew its complaint this morning, the court ruled the verdict in favor of Raabta. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, Raabta also deals with the reincarnation theme. The film’s trailer had strong similarities with Magadheera, which led the Telugu film producers to file a complaint. ‘Raabta’ makers however clarified that there will be a vast difference in the screenplay of both films.
Raabta will hit screens tomorrow.
