A young man from Telangana was shot at a gas station where he has been working part-time. The incident happened in California, US on June 4.
Mubeen Ahmed, 26, a resident of Sangareddy district, moved to the US in 2015 for a Master’s program. He was reportedly shot by an armed robber in a robbery attempt that went rogue.
Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has tweeted to inform his worried well-wishers back in India that Mubeen is now out of danger.
“The victim Mubeen Ahmed works at a gas station. A gunman demanded money from Mubeen and then fired at him. He is admitted in the Eden Medical Centre CA. Fortunately Mubeen is now out of danger. We are following up the case with the police,” Ms Swaraj tweeted.
Mubeen’s father, Mujib Ahmed said to media, “the hospital authorities called me and informed that my son is in ICU. He has been put on ventilator and we don’t really know what happened. Hospital staff informed us that he is out of danger. He went to America two years ago but did not visit us even once ever since.”
