While her seniors such as Nayanthara, Anushka, Kajal, Trisha etc. are still pocketing decent projects, Shruti Haasan now stands filmless. If we look at the decisions she has made over the past few years, she has no one but herself to blame for putting a sudden full stop (almost) to her career.
All of the reigning Southern hotties of past decade such as Nayanthara, Anushka, Tamanna, Kajal, Samantha, Trisha etc. concentrated primarily on the industry that pave red carpet for them and shifted focus to neighboring industries only after losing charm in one industry.
Shruti on the other hand has always craved for recognition in Bollywood. Despite several offers opposite star heroes, she preferred to make her silver screen debut with a small Hindi film. Later, even though Tollywood provided her first big break in the form of ‘Gabbar Singh’, she still preferred Bollywood films in spite of being offered only small films or less important roles there. In this process, she didn’t think twice to turn down several promising films in South, especially Telugu.
All of her recent films bit dust at box office and she is also in news lately for alleged surgeries, weight issues, foreign boyfriend, quitting Sangamithra etc. At this moment, Shruti has not a single film in her kitty except the shelved film of her father Kamal Haasan, ‘Sabash Naidu’.
Why a bundle of talent like Shruti had to face this embarrassing situation when actresses of relatively less caliber are still bagging films. Shruti needs to introspect what has gone wrong and how she can bring her career back on track.
