Over-enthusiastic section of Television media has crossed all its limits in covering director Puri Jagannadh story over his alleged involvement in drugs case. If this is not enough, a few TV channels have been airing video footage of Puri socialising with a guy, dancing with a guy who had been circled and projected as drug peddler Kelvin.
However, in a major blow to the media, the guy in question has appealed to media that his name is Nagababu and he stays in Bangalore. Asking media to not name him as Kelvin, Nagababu said to have come forwarded to provide necessary proofs for his identity including his identity proof, email id, Facebook username etc.
If this guy was true, media couldn’t correct its mistake in no way and no rejoinder or any sort of compensation would equate the loss and mental agony the person has gone through. In run upto sensationalism, a section of media seems to have taken its ethics, morals for granted in order to earn the TRPs.
It’s high-time, it should maintain some composure and verify facts twice before airing its stories given that the issue is so sensitive and expected to have a drastic impact on people associated with the news.
