Drugs Case : Film Actors Won’t Be Arrested

In a surprising announcement, Telangana Chief Minister KCR has stated that film actors won’t be arrested in drugs case and would be treated as ‘victims’. KCR reportedly described film actors as ‘victims’ and clarified that the investigation would only bring more information on the drug peddlers, suppliers. KCR reportedly made the above comments during his review meeting with the top officials of the Excise Department. These latest remarks of KCR have come as a shocker to many given that he himself had earlier stated that no one who is involved in drugs is spared.

After nearly 3 weeks of long ‘investigation’ and ‘questioning’ that is witnessed in the Drugs case, KCR’s fresh statement brings cheer to Tollywood stars, technicians accused of involving in drugs. He also added that based on the information provided by the ‘victims’, he stated that the SIT would conduct more raids and arrest others who are into selling, supply.

KCR was speaking at a review meeting on the ongoing drug cases with Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, Hyderabad police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy, prohibition and excise commissioner Dr R.V. Chandravadan, Intelligence IG Naveen Chand, security IG Mrugesh Kumar Singh, director of excise enforcement Dr Akun Sabharwal, joint commissioners of police Shahnawaz Qasim (Cyberabad) and Tarun Joshi (Rachakonda).

Stating that Tollywood is not targeted, CM KCR reiterated that the Special Task Force had arrested 22 persons including two foreign nationals in connection with the drug cases. He said the state government had targeted the drug culture in its initial stages and was working to control it in Hyderabad. “The allegations being circulated that drugs are on the rise in Hyderabad are false. Telangana state is in the top position in financial growth, development and law and order and the government is concentrating on eliminating social disorders,” KCR added.
