More trouble is waiting for Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Election Commission has ordered the police of Nandyal to lodge a case against YSRCP president over his “shoot Chandrababu” and “hang Chandrababu” remarks during Nandyal by-poll campaign.
The EC felt that Jagan’s personal remarks were “provoking” and against the election code and hence, the Chief Election Commissioner has ordered the local police to book Jagan.
Jagan’s vicious verbal diatribes against CM Chandrababu Naidu during public meeting has gone overboard where he said “there is noting wrong in shooting Chandrababu publicly”. If this is not enough, Jagan continued saying “nothing wrong in hanging Chandrababu”. TDP leaders raised severe objections to these statements of Jagan and complained the same to the EC.
After thoroughly probing the matter, the EC has decided to book Jagan under the law. However, cases and jail are new to Jagan Mohan Reddy. So, it needs to be seen how Jagan would take it.
