As the verdict of a rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief and self-styled God man and actor Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is due for Friday (Aug 25), high tension is prevailed in Haryana and Punjab as over lakh followers, supporters, devotees of him have gathered in Haryana.
Both Punjab and Haryana governments have asked the Army to be on standby ahead of the CBI court’s verdict in a rape case against head of Dera Sacha Sauda, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The States have deployed 53 companies of central paramilitary forces apart from around 50,000 personnel of Haryana Police. Video recording each event, putting drones for making surveillance, have sounded the Army, in case of need, can also call Army. Decision has been taken to immediately block mobile internet and data services in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh for next 72 hours.
10 duty magistrates, 10 senior IPS officers and 2 ADGPs have been deployed at Panchkula. Punjab and Haryana HC says we don’t want a situation like that during Jat agitation to take place in Haryana. Ministry of railways has been requested to cancel all passenger trains coming to Chandigarh for next two days. Central government is closely monitoring the situation.
