Former TRS Leader and close aide of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during Telangana movement is now playing a key role in YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh.
Habeeb Abdul Rahman from Telangana has been given top priority in the YSR Congress Party. He was YSR Congress minority unit President in Telangana. Though hailed from Telangana, Jagan accorded top priority to Rahman in the party in Andhra also.
Rahman was the star Campaigner of YSR Congress in the just concluded Nandyal Assembly by elections. He accompanied Jagan during poll campaign and also addressed the public meetings along with Jagan at Muslim concentrated areas.
In afresh, Rahman was also asked to join poll campaign in Kakinada Municipal corporation election to woo Muslim voters. Leaders said though several Muslim leaders are serving YSR Congress, Rahman has been given responsibility to monitor minority wing in the party. Rahman was one of the close aides of KCR till the formation of Telangana. Rahman quit the party after he was denied party ticket in Assembly elections.
