Gen x star Naga Chaitanya is playing an angry-young-man role in his newly-launched film ‘Savyasachi’ ( the first look showcasing his rippling muscles with a sword in hand) and taking a big chance with his happening career. His dream to become an action hero, has always put breaks on his career.
Now with two blockbusters ‘Premam’ and ‘Ra Randoi Vedukka Chuddam’, the audience have accepted him as a cute lover boy and could have signed more feel-good entertainers. But the scion of Akkineni family want to change his image with another action film. Even before, he dented his raising career with duds like ‘Bejawada’, ‘Dhada,’ ‘Autonagar Surya’ and ‘Dochay’ but he is hell-bent on reinventing his image again and again.
Hailing from a family who were famed onscreen loverboys like ANR and Nagarjuna, the third generation stars should realise that Telugu viewers like to see him in boy-next-door roles who fights for his love or family, rather than say taking up cudgels for against evil doers in society. Even his next release ‘Yuddham Saranam’ touted to be an action film, Naga Chaitanya seems to be changing the course of his career. Is it for his better or not, only time will tell.
