While our movie buffs slap their thighs when the songs and promos from their favorite heroes’ films cross 10s of millions of views on YouTube, here is a song that has clocked 4.6 Billion views, and emerged not just this year’s but all time most watched video on YouTube.
The music video for hit single “Despacito”, released in January this year, has become the most-watched YouTube video ever, by clocking 4.6 billion views. The Spanish song, whose title means “slowly” in English, has clocked Billions of views very fast, contrary to its meaning.
The single that featured artistes Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, became the most watched YouTube video in mere seven months, faster than any of its predecessors. Apparently, the video has gained prominence after American pop star Justin Bieber remixed it in English.
Khalifa and Puth’s “See You Again” and Korean pop artiste Psy’s 2012 song “Gangnam Style” hold the 2nd and 3rd place, both having less than 3 billion views.
