3 Telugu Films in IMDb Top 10 Indian Films of 2017

IMDb, the world’s most popular source for movie, TV and celebrity content, has unveiled the list of the Top 10 Indian Movies of 2017. And, the list has its share of surprises.

“Baahubali 2”, the Telugu epic film that created a havoc at worldwide box office, was expected by fans to make it to the Top, considering its popularity. The film made it to the list, but ranked No.2

The film that beat Baahubali 2 to take the crown of ‘Best Indian film of 2017’ (According to IMDb) is Tamil film, ‘Vikram Vedha’. Starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, the crime thriller received unanimous applause upon its release and became a blockbuster at box office. The film was called by many as the best film made in the gangster genre.

At No.3 is once again our Telugu film, “Arjun Reddy”, which has attained cult status. Despite being a star-less Telugu film, ‘Arjun Reddy’ managed to get the attention of nationwide audience and emerged as the 3rd best Indian film.

At No.6 we have another Telugu film, Rana Daggubati’s “Ghazi”, the much-appreciated underwater war drama. Its a proud moment for Telugu film fraternity to have three of our films in the Top 10. IMDb announced the Top 10 list based on user ratings.

Aamir Khan’s “Secret Superstar” and Irrfan’s “Hindi Medium” have taken the 4th and 5th positions respectively. Two films starring Akshay Kumar – Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and “Jolly LLB 2” have also found a place in the Top 10. The last two spots are taken by Vijay’s controversial Tamil film “Mersal” and Mammootty’s Malayalam film “The Great Father”.
